THE RIGHT TO COMFORT (Music: Jostein Hasselgård, lyrics: Edward van de Vendel) You look pale now, paler than your pillow, so we better shut out all the light. ‘I’ve seen myself,’ you say, ‘and I was walking into nothing, I was walking out of sight.’ Did you see that on the ceiling? Did you read it on the wall? Have you been alone too long today? Damn – you should have called. ‘cause I cannot help the things you’re seeing but please, don’t see them like this. And I cannot help the things you’re feeling but please, don’t feel them like this. And I cannot help the things you’re thinking but please, don’t think them like this. I will consume you, bear you in my body, you’ll be inside of me each day Imagine that, for real. Eternity for you and me So can’t you picture it that way? Are you gazing in the dark now? Are you listening at all? Don’t you think I have the right to comfort you before we fall? |
GLAMOURGOLDEN ME (Music: Jostein Hasselgård, lyrics: Edward van de Vendel) Okay, we meet. You order coffee. Sugar? Yes. And milk? No, no, no And then before I know you take a go: you spread your heart, and smear it out over the table down from left to right No pretty sight, but I’m not blinking. ‘Really? Wow. Amazing. Well, well, well.’ But as you`re talking on I need a drink or maybe two only to keep me from thinking the thoughts I have for you: Are you picking up the pity where you can? Is this glamourgolden victim all the man you wanna be? Aha, I see. Well – if sorrow is your sunshine I don’t wanna get a tan. And if pity is your popsong I don’t wanna be a fan. I ought to go. It’s getting late now. Thank you. No, no problem, I will pay. You see, I’m trying hard to hide my lies. But then you say: Why am I in your opinions in stead of in your eyes? Are you picking up the pity where you can? Is this glamourgolden victim all the man you wanna be? Aha, I see. Well – if sorrow is your sunshine I don’t wanna get a tan. And if pity is your popsong I don’t wanna be a fan. I need to tell you this song is not for you It’s not about you, or how you seem to be. It’s about me, glamourgolden me. It’s about me, glamourgolden me. |
TRUTH IN A CAR (Music: Jostein Hasselgård, lyrics: Edward van de Vendel) I love the door and you love the door, and so we get into the speed. We’re driving away, there are miles in my eyes, there is power right under your feet. And the road is a track and the track is anonymous The faces we’re watching are backlights in front of us - So as we start talking and as we get far, it’s truth we unravel, it’s truth in a car. Big is the night, and sinful and bright, we talk and we get into gear. Is it moving that makes us make our move? Is it steering that brings us to steer? And the road is a track and the track is anonymous The faces we’re watching are backlights in front of us - So as we start talking and as we get far, it’s truth we unravel, it’s truth in a car. Everywhere traffic is tearing the land, ‘cause everywhere love is at stake. There’s always a crossing, there’s always a bridge, there’s always a limit to break. And the road is a track and the track is anonymous The faces we’re watching are backlights in front of us - So as we start talking and as we get far, it’s truth we unravel, it’s truth in a car. |
